I am very honored and delighted to launch Australian Institute for Science and Technology (AIST) to provide quality training and education via face-to-face and online education to students in order to produce competent skilled workforce in Cambodia. AIST are the first tertiary educational institute to initiate online education to support the face-face delivery mode in Cambodia.
Online education is promising and efficient way of provision of quality education. It well fits and is complement to face-to-face delivery. Like many universities in the world such as the University of Melbourne, Monash University and Harward University that provide many outstanding courses via online, AIST provide online education for various courses from vocational to undergraduate and post graduate studies. Our courses cover numerous fields such as English, management, business, accounting and finance. They are convenient, cost-effective, efficient, simple and user-friendly. Students earn while they study, which are essential experience for their career in the future. They study with qualified international lecturers. For example, our Cambodian students can do undergraduate or post graduate studies in English Literature or TESOL with Dr Matthew Piscioneri and Ms Mila Arden who are based in Australia. Students from remote areas of Cambodia have good opportunities to study with one of the best lecturers in Australia and in the world via face-to-face and online delivery mode. With affordable fee and scholarships, poor students have good access to better education, skills and future. With good skills, secured jobs and incomes, people can decide and act for what are best for individuals, families and the country.
My father passed away in the Khmer Rouge Regime. My mother was a primary school teacher. They had sacrificed, raised and educated us to study and work hard for good education and skills, to get out of poverty and to have a better future. With advice from my parents had made me a good student and obtained a scholarship for master degree at the University of Queensland in 1999, and a scholarship for doctorate degree at the University of Melbourne in 2001. My parents had made me whom I am today. I am always and profoundly indebted and grateful to my parents.
I sincerely thank our students, colleagues and friends for enormous and continuous support, commitment and passion. Together, we realize our goal of expanding education without borders. We look forward to a good future for each and all.
